TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR SURREY AND SUSSEX DJ'S

By paying a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking, you’re agreeing to the following terms and conditions. Please note that these terms and conditions are only in place to ensure the fun and enjoyment of you and your guests alongside the safety and wellbeing of our DJs.

1. - Booking details

1.1 - The Client shall ensure that all details given of the venue are correct and if the DJ inspects the venue & finds any differences, the DJ will liaise with the client to resolve this matter.

1.2 - We aim to arrive at the event location approximately one hour prior to the designated start time, though this is to be considered a rough estimate. Our commitment is to ensure that we are fully set up and ready to go at the agreed-upon start time. It is imperative that the chosen venue provides a minimum of 30 minutes after the event for the DJ to dismantle equipment and vacate the premises. Additionally, we kindly request the client to indicate what access is available, including details on accessibility, such as stairs, lifts, and available parking facilities.

1.3 – Once the details have been agreed upon by both parties, a non-refundable deposit will be required for your event or function to secure your booking.

2. – Payments

2.1 - If paying by cheque please make it payable to MR DAVID GOODINGS and write your surname and the date of your event on the back.

2.2 - If paying via an online bank transfer, please ensure that you include your surname and the date of your event as the reference.

2.3 – Once you’ve paid a non-refundable deposit, please notify Surrey and Sussex DJs. When the agreed amount for the deposit has been received, the booking will be confirmed to you in writing and the remaining balance should be paid in cash on the day of the event before the party starts.

3. – Cancellations
3.1 - The DJ will be holding your date exclusively for you and will turn away all other work. As a result, the DJ will not make a refund of any deposit in the event of a cancellation. Cancellations must be made in writing by email.

3.2 - Upon confirmation of the DJ booking, the deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances. Should you cancel within 6 months prior to the event date, 50% of the total agreed fee will still remain payable. In the event of a cancellation within 3 months of the booking, the full balance of the agreed amount will be due, as we will have committed to your booking and most likely declined other potential work opportunities.

3.3 - In the unlikely event that Surrey and Sussex DJs are unable to attend the event or have to cancel the booking at any point, Surrey and Sussex DJs will inform the ‘client’ and make all reasonable efforts to find a suitable replacement, at no extra cost to the ‘client’. Should a suitable replacement not be found, Surrey and Sussex DJs will refund the ‘client’ their deposit plus any other monies paid. This is the extent of our liability to the ‘client’. Under no circumstance can any legal action be taken against David Goodings, your designated DJ, or Surrey and Sussex DJs.

4. – Conduct

4.1 - It is the client's responsibility to ensure that all guests conduct themselves in a proper manner at all times. The client must be responsible for all guests and their actions.

4.2 - The client is responsible for any damage to the DJs equipment caused by any person at the event. The client will be charged for the full cost of any repairs required. The client will be advised of any damage soon after it has been caused.

4.3 - No violent, aggressive or abusive behaviour from anyone under any circumstances will be tolerated, and the DJ reserves the right to terminate the disco at any time (still getting paid the full amount) if any personal safety is under threat or abusive behaviour is received. The DJ does not take responsibility for ejecting any unwanted persons from any venue. The client will be advised of any problems with any guests and will aim to resolve the situation before terminating the disco as a last resort.

4.4 - In the event of a minor’s function there must be a legal ratio of responsible persons to minors.

4.5 - If required, the DJ will be responsible for producing certificates of Public Liability Insurance (PLI) prior to the event.

5. - Service
5.1- The ‘DJ’ agrees to provide a performance that is to the best of their ability, and meets the client’s expectation within reason. The ‘DJ’ will adhere to the client’s wishes where possible and in line with the venue’s restrictions.
5.2 - The ‘DJ’ is to provide all equipment required to undertake the service that has been agreed unless the equipment has been arranged to be provided by the ‘client’ or a third party.
5.3 – We encourage our clients to send through a playlist of songs. This should be sent via email at least a week before the event. Please note not all songs work well on the day, which is why it is important to allow your ‘DJ’ to have full control to change the music where necessary. When providing us with a playlist, we recommend you consider music that all your guests will enjoy. Although the DJ takes into consideration your playlist, they have the final say on what music/songs are played during the party.

5.4 – When booking through Surrey and Sussex DJs, this is a DJ agency that you're booking with, there is no confirmation on who your DJ is for your party whether it be Dave Goodings or a DJ from the Surrey and Sussex DJs team. Rest assured we only work with the top DJs and you can check out our 5-star Google reviews by searching for Surrey and Sussex DJs.

7. - Health and Safety

7.1 - The DJ will adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations, to which the client must also adhere to. If there is a failure to conform to the this, the DJ cannot take any further part of the event and the full amount of the event has to be paid.

7.2 - We take pride in offering a professional DJ service with everyone's safety being our number one priority. If however, in the unlikely situation you or any of your guests at the party find themselves injured as a result of contact with the DJ equipment, David Goodings, your designated DJ or Surrey and Sussex DJs will not be responsible for any injuries caused to the attendees at the event.

8. - The Venue and Licenses

8.1 - The client ensures that a safe and adequate power supply is available.

8.2 - The client must ensure that the entire venue has all relevant licences, and conforms to all the local bye-laws as The DJ cannot perform in a venue that has not got all required licences.

8.3 -. All bookings should be taken on the understanding that the venue is in possession of the necessary entertainment & liquor licenses. The DJ is not responsible if the venue is found to be in breach of the terms of their license.
8.4 - If the DJ start time is delayed due to the inability of the DJ to gain access to the performance area, or any other delay beyond the DJ(s) reasonable control, the DJ will not be liable for any refund whatsoever.

8.5 - The DJ reserves the right to substitute an alternative DJ should uncontrollable circumstances dictate the need to do so.

9. - Additional Extras

9.1 - If you (the client) opt for our confetti cannon add-on in conjunction with the DJ booking, it is your sole responsibility to confirm with the venue beforehand whether they approve the use of our confetti cannons. David Goodings, your designated DJ, and Surrey and Sussex DJs will not be held liable for any costs that may arise from the use of the confetti cannons under any circumstance.

9.2 - If the prize package option is selected, the client/organiser takes full responsibility for the safety of guests at their event. In the case of kids' parties, the organiser acknowledges responsibility for the safety of guests and confirms that they are of an appropriate age to receive such prizes. Surrey and Sussex DJs cannot be held liable for any injuries caused by the distributed sweets and prizes. The acceptance of the prize package implies agreement with these safety conditions. The client takes full responsibility for checking with everyone attending the party about any allergies, and if there are any, they must inform us prior to the event. In no way can Surrey and Sussex DJs be held responsible. Under no circumstance can any legal action be taken against David Goodings, your designated DJ, or Surrey and Sussex DJs.

10.1 - By paying the deposit, you (the client) consent to Surrey and Sussex DJs using your contact details to coordinate with our team of DJs as needed to ensure your event runs smoothly.

10.2 - You also give Surrey and Sussex DJs permission to use your contact details for communication before, during, and after the event, as well as for marketing purposes. This includes sharing updates, special offers, and other relevant information related to our services.
